What we look for
What goes wrong under solar panels
Most solar problems we see start with the roof under the array. These are what our inspection checks.
-
Solar in South Jordan Leaks around the mounts
Every mount goes through your roof. We check the flashing and the seal at each one.
-
Storm damage on and around the array
Hail and wind hit the panels and the shingles around them. We photograph both.
-
Solar in Sandy Debris and nesting under the panels
Leaves, debris, and nests collect in the gap under an array and hold water against the roof.
-
Solar in Sandy Panels that need to come off
Some roof repairs sit right under the panels. Our licensed crew takes them off and puts them back.
Text a photo of what you are seeing to (801) 252-5124 and we will take a look.

One crew for the roof and the panels.
- When a leak shows up under an array, the roofer blames the solar company and the solar company blames the roofer.
- We hold both licenses, so the panel work and the roof repair stay with one crew and one warranty conversation.
- Solar on a business or apartment building? The same crew works on commercial solar.
Free. Drone photos included. We are licensed for solar work. We are not electricians: inverters, wiring, and monitoring go to the right trade.
Tell us what you are seeing up there.
Send us the address and we will call you back during business hours to set up a free inspection. We look at the roof and the array together.

Solar repair questions
The questions homeowners ask us when something is wrong with the roof under their panels.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, for new systems and repairs alike. We have options through our lending partners, plus in-house financing of our own. Talk to us and we will find the one that fits.
Do you handle insurance?
We document and estimate. Storm damage to the panels and the roof gets photographed and written up for you and your carrier. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file claims for you. More on insurance.
Can you work on roofs with solar panels?
Yes, that is what this page is about. We hold our own solar license, so the panel work stays with our crew. For a full roof replacement, see roof replacement with solar.
What counts as an act of God on a homeowners policy?
Usually a sudden event nobody could control, like hail, a windstorm, or a falling tree. Wear and age usually do not count. Your policy and your carrier make the final call, so read your coverage or ask your agent.
How do I know if hail hit my panels or my roof?
Look for dents on vents, gutters, and flashing, granules in the gutters, and cracked or chipped panel glass. Most damage cannot be seen from the ground, so our free inspection includes drone photos of the roof and the array.
Why is my roof leaking under my solar panels?
Usually it is the mounts. Each one goes through your roof, and the flashing or seal around it can fail. We find the source before we guess, and we photograph it so you can see it too.
What if water is coming in right now?
Call us at (801) 252-5124. We can respond same day to emergency roof repairs during business hours.
Will a repair void my solar warranty?
Ask your installer what your warranty requires before any work starts. We follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and photograph every step, so you have a record of what was done.
Are you electricians?
No. We are licensed for solar work (S202) and general building (B100), not as electricians. Electrical problems like inverters, wiring, and monitoring go to the right trade, and we will tell you when that is what you need.
Still have a question? Call or text (801) 252-5124, or get your instant online estimate.
