The roof comes first, then the panels.

  • Solar panels stay on a roof for a long time, so the roof under them has to be ready to go the distance.
  • We look at the roof before a single panel goes up. If it needs work first, we tell you.
  • The inspection is free and in person, with drone photos and thermal imaging on request.

Free. Drone photos included.

Residential solar questions

The questions homeowners ask us about solar and the roof under it.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, for new systems and repairs alike. We have options through our lending partners, plus in-house financing of our own. Talk to us and we will find the one that fits.

Do you handle insurance?

We document and estimate. We inspect, photograph, and measure, then give you a clear written report and estimate to share with your insurance company. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file claims for you. More on insurance.

Can you work on a roof that already has solar panels?

Yes. We hold our own solar license, so our crew takes the panels off and puts them back on. Nobody gets subbed out. Roof replacement with solar.

What counts as an act of God on a homeowners policy?

Usually a sudden event nobody could control, like hail, a windstorm, or a falling tree. Wear and age usually do not count. Your policy and your carrier make the final call, so read your coverage or ask your agent.

How can I tell if I have storm damage?

Look for missing or creased shingles, granules in the gutters, dents on vents and gutters, and water stains on ceilings. A lot of hail damage cannot be seen from the ground, which is why our free inspection includes drone photos of every slope.

Is my roof ready for solar panels?

It depends on the age and condition of the roof. We inspect it in person and with a drone before any panels go up. If the roof needs work first, we tell you, and if it does not, we tell you that too.

Should I replace my roof before I go solar?

If your roof is near the end of its life, usually yes. Panels on an old roof have to come off and go back on when that roof gets replaced, and that adds $175 per panel to the cost. Doing the roof first means you only pay for it once.

Are there solar tax credits or rebates?

Check for solar tax credits and available energy efficiency programs before you decide. We are a contractor, not a tax advisor, so we do not promise any credit or rebate.

Are you electricians?

No. We are licensed for solar work (S202 Solar Photovoltaic) and general building (B100) under Utah contractor license 6933591-5501. We are not licensed electricians, and we do not do general electrical work.

Which solar panels do you install?

Panels from the big-name brands. The right option depends on your roof and your home, and we walk you through the choices at your inspection.
