Hail or wind damage? We inspect the roof, document every slope with photos, and hand your insurance company a complete report. That part is free.
A storm walkthrough with someone on site in less than 48 hours, and every slope photographed.
We update this list after every hail or wind event. If one of these hit your area, your roof is worth a look, even if you cannot see anything from the ground.

Hail and 50 to 65 mph gusts north of Salt Lake County.

Check from the ground
Sometimes storm damage is obvious and sometimes it is not. We have an eye for it. We go over every inch of your roof to make sure your home is safe, and sometimes that takes time. We would rather be thorough than miss something.
Hail hit on a shingle, circled
Wind-lifted shingles, marked
Shingles blown off by wind
Creased shingle, lifted to show it
Dented downspout, circled
Bent drip edge, circled
Also look for granules piling up at the bottom of a downspout, dents in vents and AC fins, and any new stain on an upstairs ceiling. Stay off the roof itself.
You decide whether to file, and we give you the facts.

Documentation
Every hit gets circled, every slope gets photographed, and every photo is dated. Hundreds of photos on every job, and even more when insurance is involved.
We document and estimate. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file the claim for you, and we never promise a free roof.

The person at your door is an inspector, not a salesman. Their only job is to make sure you and your family are safe, protected, and have the right information.
Salaried inspectors
If your roof does not need work, we will tell you. Nobody gains anything by overselling it.
Hundreds of photos of your job
Before, during, and after. You get every one of them.

How to tell if your roof has hail damage after a Utah summer storm
Learn signs of hail damage on a roof, which signs usually need a professional inspection, and when storm damage calls for repair or replacement.
Storm damage assessment checklist: how pros evaluate roofs, gutters, and siding
A storm damage assessment is understanding whether the home is still fully protected before the next storm arrives and identifying what should be repaired immediately versus monitored over time.
What Utah homeowners ask us after a hail or wind storm.
Yes, whether or not insurance is involved. Our in-house financing and our lending partners work the same either way. Military, first responders, and teachers get an automatic $500 off.
No, and in Utah a roofer should not: handling or negotiating a claim takes a public adjuster license. What we do is inspect, photograph, write a dated report and a written estimate, and explain the process so nothing surprises you. How insurance works.
Yes, with the roof under them. We hold the S202 Solar Photovoltaic classification on our Utah contractor license, so our own crew takes the panels off and puts them back when the roof is repaired or replaced. Tell us about the panels when you book.
Usually, yes. Hail and wind are the kind of sudden damage nobody caused, which is what most homeowner policies are written for. Wear and old age usually are not. Your policy decides what is covered, so read it or ask your agent.
Start from the ground. Look for dents in gutters, downspouts, vents, and AC fins, granules piling up at the downspouts, lifted or missing shingles, and new ceiling stains. Small hail hits are hard to see from below, so if in doubt, get the free inspection.
That is your call. Many homeowners get a free inspection first so they know whether there is damage worth reporting, then call their carrier with the photos in hand. Either way, the decision to file is yours.
It depends on your policy. Many carriers allow about a year from the storm date, and the clock usually starts on the day of the storm, not the day you notice the damage. Check your policy or ask your agent.
There is no single size. It depends on the roof’s age and material, and smaller hail can still damage older shingles. That is why photos beat guesses.
Yes. Ask us about GAF ArmorShield. It is an impact-resistant shingle rated Class 4 under UL 2218, the top rating in that test, where a steel ball is dropped on the shingle twice from 20 feet. No shingle is hail-proof, but if you are replacing your roof anyway, it is worth asking about at your inspection.
