Solar on your roof?
Roof replacement specialists for homes with solar
Panels off, new roof on, panels back, one licensed crew.
Hire someone who knows roofing and solar.
“You are going to want to be very careful who you select as a roofer. You must go with somebody who both understands the roofing game and the solar game. If not, you could put yourself in some pretty big pickles with warranties.”
- We hold both licenses, B100 for the roof and S202 for the solar, so one company does the whole job.

What does a roof replacement with solar cost?
It depends, and anyone who hands you a number without seeing the roof is guessing. The solar part is simple: taking the panels off and putting them back on is $175 per panel.
We look at the variables, free, and you get a same-day estimate with clear pricing and no upgrade line items.
The variables
- Roof size and pitch
- Material and package level
- Number of panels and how they are mounted
- Access and number of stories

Roof replacement with solar questions
The questions homeowners with panels ask us before a new roof.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, for new systems and repairs alike. We have options through our lending partners, plus in-house financing of our own. Talk to us and we will find the one that fits.
Do you handle insurance?
We document and estimate. If storm damage is behind the replacement, we photograph all of it, including under and around the array, and give you a written estimate for your carrier. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file claims for you.
Do you work on roofs with solar panels?
Yes, that is this whole page. Our licensed crew takes the panels off, the new roof goes on, and the panels go back on.
What counts as an act of God on a homeowners policy?
Usually a sudden event nobody could control, like hail, a windstorm, or a falling tree. Wear and age usually do not count. Your policy and your carrier make the final call, so read your coverage or ask your agent.
How can I tell if I have storm damage?
Look for missing or creased shingles, granules in the gutters, dents on vents and gutters, and water stains on ceilings. A lot of hail damage cannot be seen from the ground, which is why our free inspection includes drone photos of every slope.
Does solar add to the cost of a new roof?
Yes, it will add to the cost. Taking the panels off and putting them back on is $175 per panel. A 20-panel system is $3,500 for the detach and reset. The rest of the price depends on the roof itself, which is why the estimate comes after we see it.
Can I replace my roof without removing the panels?
Not for a full replacement. The roof under the array gets replaced too, and nobody can reach it with the panels in the way.
Will taking my panels off void their warranty?
Check your panel and installer warranty terms before work starts. Your panels keep their own manufacturer warranty. We follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions and photograph every step, so you have a record of what was done.
Who reinstalls the panels?
Our own crew, under our S202 Solar Photovoltaic license. Nobody gets subbed out. We are not electricians, and we will not pretend to be.
