Siding repair questions

The questions we get asked the most about fixing siding.

Do you offer financing for siding repair?

Yes, repairs can be financed too. In-house financing and our lending partners both cover siding repairs. If you do not get approved, call or text us. We might be able to work with you.

Do you handle insurance?

We document and estimate. We do not negotiate or file the claim. We photograph the damaged siding and the roof, mark every spot, and give you a dated report and a written estimate for your insurance company. We are contractors, not public adjusters. How insurance work goes.

Do you work on homes with solar panels?

Yes. Our Utah contractor license carries the S202 Solar Photovoltaic classification, so if panels have to come off for roof work, the same company handles it. We are not electricians and we do not do general electrical work. How roof replacement with solar works.

What counts as an act of God?

Damage nobody caused. Hail, wind, lightning, a tree that came down in a storm. Nobody was careless and nobody skipped a repair, the weather just showed up. That is the kind of damage most homeowner policies are written for. What they usually will not cover is siding that simply got old, which is exactly the line good photos win and bad photos lose.

How do I know if hail damaged my siding?

Look at the side of the house the storm came from. Dents, chips, cracks, and small holes in the panels, and dents in the downspouts, are the usual signs. If the siding took hits, the roof usually did too, so we look at both on the free inspection.

Can you repair just one section of siding?

Usually, yes. A few damaged panels can often be replaced without touching the rest of the wall. It depends on the siding and on how far the damage goes, and we tell you which one you have after the inspection.

How much does siding repair cost?

It depends on how much is damaged and what is behind it. A few panels on one wall is a small job. Damage on several walls, pieces that are hard to match, water damage behind the siding, or a second-story wall that needs ladders or a lift all move the number. Anyone who quotes you without seeing the wall is guessing, so the inspection is free, with same-day estimates.

Can you match my existing siding?

Sometimes not exactly, and we tell you before we start. Sun fades siding over the years, and some older styles are not made anymore, so a new piece can look different next to the old ones. Insurance carriers handle mismatched siding differently, so if it is a claim, ask your carrier how your policy treats it.

Is it worth repairing old siding, or should I replace it?

If you keep fixing the same wall, replacement is usually the better money. A repair makes sense when the rest of the siding is healthy. When the panels are brittle, warped, or failing everywhere, we will tell you, and we will not sell you a replacement you do not need. See siding replacement, or read more on when to repair and when to replace siding.

What causes siding damage in Utah?

Hail, wind, sun, and water. Hail dents and cracks panels, wind pulls loose pieces off, the sun makes older siding brittle, and overflowing gutters can soak the wall under them for years. If water is pouring over your gutters, look at gutter repair too.

Do you repair siding on commercial buildings?

Yes. Apartment complexes, HOA and townhome communities, storefronts, and offices, with a photo record and certificates of insurance on request. See commercial siding.
