Roofing in a town that doubled in twenty years
Springville more than doubled in size between 1990 and 2010, and a lot of those homes are still on their first roof. Why that matters to you: when a whole subdivision goes up in the same few years, the roofs tend to wear out together too.
Hobble Creek, then the Art City
Springville started small. The first settlers set up camp on September 18, 1850, in the foothills of the Wasatch, two miles east of Utah Lake. The town was called Hobble Creek at first and became a city in 1853, according to Springville City’s own history. Today most people know it as the Art City, home of the Springville Museum of Art, which is described as Utah’s oldest museum for the visual fine arts.
From 14,000 to 29,000 people
The houses came fast. Springville went from about 14,000 people in 1990 to about 29,000 in 2010, per the census figures on Wikipedia. The U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey figures on Census Reporter put the median home in town at 1996, with more than 2,700 homes built between 2000 and 2009 alone. Those roofs have now seen 15 to 25 Utah winters. That is about when shingles start shedding granules, sealant strips let go, and the first small leaks show up. We tear off to the deck every time, replace soft decking instead of covering it up, and the first two sheets are on us.
When the wind comes through Utah County
Utah County gets real wind. In January 2010, gusts in Springville and Spanish Fork knocked down fences and damaged rooftops, and one Springville homeowner described shingles ripping off the roof and sliding down onto the deck, the KSL report says. Wind finds the weak shingles first: it lifts tabs and works at edges and ridgelines. If you are worried about your roof after a storm, let us know and we will have somebody there in less than 48 hours for a walkthrough.
Springville has its own power company
Here is one people find out when they ask about solar. Springville runs its own utility, and Springville City Power handles home solar through its Customer-Owned Generation program. The account holder calls and sets an appointment to sign the papers in person. We hold the solar license, so if you are thinking about solar panels, or you already have them and need a new roof, one crew handles both.
Just a reminder, we have financing options available. Learn more about financing, or you can schedule a free inspection or simply give us a call.
Recent work
Recent work in Springville
We’ve been in business since 2007, and Springville is a straight shot down I-15 from our office. Here are two of our Springville jobs.
What the drone sees
From the drone you can see patches that do not match the rest of the roof. Old repairs or shingles that have come off, either way it is something you would never spot from the driveway. That is why every inspection starts in the air, and why the owner gets every photo.
Vents, chimney, and every edge
A gray shingle roof with three vents and a chimney. Every one of those is a hole in the roof that has to be sealed right. On an inspection we photograph each one up close, so you can see the flashing for yourself.

Springville roofing questions
Questions we get all the time from Springville homeowners.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, from our own in-house financing or from our lending partners. Tell us what a comfortable monthly payment looks like, and we will show you what each option comes to. Military, first responders, and teachers get an automatic $500 off.
Do you handle insurance?
We handle the documentation side. We inspect, mark, photograph, and give your insurance company a complete dated report, and with your OK we answer your carrier’s questions about what we documented. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file the claim for you, and we never promise a free roof. What we make sure of is that nothing on your roof goes undocumented.
What counts as an act of God?
Damage that nobody caused. Hail, wind, lightning, a tree that came down in a storm. Nobody was careless and nobody skipped a repair, the weather just showed up. That is the kind of damage most homeowner policies are written for. What they usually will not cover is a roof that simply got old, which is exactly the line good photos win and bad photos lose.
How do I tell if I have storm damage?
Most of it hides from the ground. Look for shingle granules in the gutters or at the downspout, lifted or missing shingles after wind, dents on soft metal like vents and downspouts, and any new stain on an upstairs ceiling. If you spot any of it, get the free inspection and we will document every slope before it turns into a leak.
Do you work on roofs with solar panels?
Yes, we do it in-house. We hold the S202 Solar Photovoltaic classification on our Utah contractor license, so panels come off and go back on with the crew that does your roof. No second company, no second wait, and one warranty conversation instead of two.
Is solar different in Springville?
A little, because Springville runs its own power company. Springville City Power handles home solar through its Customer-Owned Generation program, and the account holder sets an appointment to sign the papers in person. A building permit comes from the city too. We are licensed for solar, so we can walk you through it and handle the panels with the same crew that does your roof.
My Springville home was built in the 2000s. Is the roof due?
It may be getting close. More than 2,700 Springville homes went up between 2000 and 2009, so a lot of original roofs here are now 15 to 25 years old. Age alone does not mean replace. The free inspection tells you how much life is left, with dated photos of every slope.
What does wind do to Springville roofs?
It pulls at the weak spots first. In January 2010, wind gusts in Springville and Spanish Fork knocked down fences and plucked shingles right off roofs. Wind works at tabs, edges, and ridgelines. After a big wind, let us know and we will have somebody on site in less than 48 hours for a storm walkthrough.
Do you pull permits in Springville?
Yes. We pull the reroof permit where the city requires one.
How many roofs have you done in Springville?
16 documented residential jobs, counted from our own job records, all in the 84663 ZIP code.
