Roofing in the Heber Valley
A Heber City roof spends months under snow that melts by day and refreezes at night. Why that matters to you: ice dams and failed flashing do their damage quietly, long before a stain shows up inside. A dated photo report catches it first.
Over the hill in the Wasatch Back
We work in Heber City, over the mountains from the Salt Lake Valley in the Wasatch Back. A lot of our full-time guys ski, snowboard, and mountain bike, so a job up here never feels like a chore. It is beautiful country, and it is mountain country, which changes what a roof has to handle. And if you are near Park City, we work there too.
A town that started as London
Heber City has a great story. A pioneer party made up mostly of converts from Great Britain arrived on May 2, 1859, and named the townsite London. When Wasatch County was created in 1862, London was renamed Heber City, and in 1864 and 1865 settlers put up homes and community buildings from native red sandstone, according to Heber City’s own history. Heber has been building homes for more than 160 years, and an old roof and a new one need very different conversations, so we assess every one in person.
Seventy inches of snow
The weather is the big one. The Heber weather station has more than a century of records, and its monthly climate summary from the Western Regional Climate Center shows about 70 inches of snow in an average year and January lows that average around 9 degrees. Snow that sits on a roof for months melts during the day, runs down to the cold eaves, and freezes again at night. That is how ice dams form, and that is why ice protection and heat cable stop being upgrades up here and start being the plan. We install and service those systems, and we look hard at the spots where two roof types meet, because that is where mountain roofs leak first.
The materials we use up here
On steep mountain rooflines we install a lot of standing seam metal, and on shingle roofs we recommend GAF Timberline HDZ or CertainTeed Landmark Pro, the same shingles that run in our packages. The Heber Valley gets plenty of sun in the summer too, which is why we get asked about solar panels up here. And by the way, we do siding and gutters as well.
After a storm
If you are worried about your property after a recent storm, let us know and we will have somebody there in less than 48 hours to assess and do a walkthrough for you. Every free inspection ends with a dated photo report you can read from anywhere, which helps when the house is a second home. Weather dependent, we are able to tackle roofs even in the winter months.
Just a reminder, we have financing options available. Learn more about financing, or you can schedule a free inspection or simply give us a call.
Recent work
Recent work in Heber City
We make the drive to the Heber Valley all year. Here is one of our Heber City jobs, up close.
Where three roofs meet
Standing seam metal, a low-slope section, and shingles all meeting on one Heber City roof. Mountain homes are full of transitions like this, and every one is a seam that snow sits on for months. These are the spots we photograph closest on every inspection, so the owner can see them without climbing up.

Heber City roofing questions
Questions we get all the time from Heber City homeowners.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. Ask about in-house financing or our lending partners when we come up to Heber, and we will find a payment that fits. Military, first responders, and teachers get an automatic $500 off.
Do you handle insurance?
We inspect, mark, photograph, and give your insurance company a complete dated report. With your OK, we also answer your carrier’s questions about what we documented. We are roofers, not public adjusters, so we do not negotiate or file the claim for you, and we never promise a free roof. What we make sure of is that nothing on your roof goes undocumented.
What counts as an act of God?
Damage nobody caused. Hail, wind, lightning, a tree that came down in a storm. Nobody was careless and nobody skipped a repair, the weather just showed up. That is the kind of damage most homeowner policies are written for. What they usually will not cover is a roof that simply got old, which is exactly the line good photos win and bad photos lose.
How do I tell if I have storm damage?
From the ground, mostly you cannot, and that is the problem. Look for shingle granules in the gutters or at the downspout, lifted or missing shingles after wind, dents on soft metal like vents and downspouts, and any new stain on an upstairs ceiling. If you spot any of it, get the free inspection and we will document every slope before it turns into a leak.
Do you work on roofs with solar panels?
Yes, in-house. We hold the S202 Solar Photovoltaic classification on our Utah contractor license, so panels come off and go back on with the crew that does your roof. No second company, no second wait, and one warranty conversation instead of two.
Do I need heat cables in Heber City?
On a lot of Heber roofs, yes, at the eaves and valleys. January nights here average about 9 degrees, so snowmelt that runs down the roof freezes at the cold edge and builds an ice dam. A heat cable keeps a thin melt channel open so the water drains off instead of backing up under the shingles. We install and service these systems.
How much snow does a Heber City roof deal with?
About 70 inches in an average year, with January alone averaging around 18, according to the long-running Heber weather station. That is snow that sits, melts, and refreezes for months, so we pay close attention to ice protection at the eaves, valleys, and anywhere two roof types meet.
How fast can somebody check my roof after a storm?
Less than 48 hours. If you are worried about your property after a recent storm, let us know and we will have somebody there to assess it and do a walkthrough for you.
Do you work in Heber City during the winter?
Weather dependent, yes. We are able to tackle roofs even in the winter months, depending on the season and the conditions, and we will be straight with you about timing.
Do you pull permits in Heber City?
Yes. We pull the reroof permit where the city requires one.
